Put every pothole in the UK on one free, public map.
Why a map
The condition of a road is obvious to anyone who drives it and invisible to everyone else. There is no single, open picture of where the potholes actually are. We're building one, from reports by the people who use those roads every day.
Free for the public
PotholeMap is completely free for the general public to use. Searching the map and reporting a pothole cost nothing and need no account, and that will always be true. Our priority is coverage: the more of the UK’s roads on the map, the more useful it is to everyone.
Evidence, not opinion
Every report pairs a photo with a location and a time. Reports go on the map straight away and are checked afterwards, and anything that does not belong is removed, so what you see is a record rather than a rumour.
Where this goes
As coverage grows, the map becomes something useful to drivers, cyclists, councils and anyone arguing for their road to be fixed. That is the whole ambition for now.
